The City Council of the City of Irwindale met at the above
time and place in a Special Adjourned Meeting, pursuant to the

adjourment by the legislative body of a Special Meeting held
J
June 7, 1963, the City Cleric declared that Notice of Adjourriment of
meeting was posted as required by law.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of our
Country, the meeting was opened with an invocation by Mr. Robert R
Stevens.

Attorney Robert R Stevens, City Clerk Lee B. Young, and Recording

OTHER MATTERS
SOUTH SIDE OF ARROW The City Manager presented a
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT. Change Order on Cash Contract with
Louis Lopez for construction of
additional sidewglks, driveways and fill-ins on the South Side of
Arrow Highway between Ellen Drive and Vincent Ave, at a total cost
of $2,160 13
COUNCILMAN MIRANDA ENTERED THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AT 7.40
O'CLOCK P. M , AND TOOK HIS PLACE ON THE ROSTRUM.
The City Manager stated that he planned to fill in the
parkway with asphalt and create planters for trees
Councilman Breceda stated for the record, that the City
Manager should tell the Council that Mr. Veldman stole the idea
from him /
Councilman -Mayor Diaz jokingly said for the record, that
Councilman Brecgd$ shall receive credit for the idea, and Councilman
Martinez jokingly added that the idea has been on the record about
3 or 4 years
The City Attorney stated that inasmuch as the original
contract was ogly $3,481.68, this change -order for $2,160 13
constituted a major change, and that all purchases over $2,000 00
should go out 4o, bid in accordance with Irwindale Municipal Code.
After much discussion, it was decided to delete the fill-
ins between, Ellen and Vincent and stay only with those items included
in the original conttract
Councilman Breceda moved, seconded by Councilman Miranda,
that the additional sidewalks and driveways on the South Side of
Arrow Highway between Morada and Vincent be approved at a cost of
$1144.84. Carried unanimously t

The City Manager presented the
Salary Survey and Job Descriptions
for the City of Irwindale as
requested by Council in connection
It was generally felt that some of the recommendations
made in the Salary Survey were good, but that some of them were out
of line, and inasmuch as all councilmen had not had an opportunity
to thoroughly study the Survey, it was decided that this would be
studied over the weekend, and that sometime during the meeting to
be held on June 17, 1963, the Council would adjourn to an executive
session to further discuss this
