The Irwindale Parks & Recreation Commission met in regular session at the above time and place. ROLL CALL COMMISSIONERS: Terry Chico, Chris Orosco, Olivia Grijalva, John Fraijo and Chairman Dan Diaz. Also present: Recreation Director Dennis DeGruccio and Secretary Rosemary Ramirez. SELECTION OF BOOTHS 4TH OF JULY FIESTA. The following report was presented by Secretary Ramirez: Thirteen (13) organizations were sent booth applications. Eleven (11) organizations responded with a total request for eighteen (18) booths. Of the eighteen, seven (7) were propane users and 11 non propane users. Commission took action on individual organization requests as follows: a. One organization is requesting to utilize a barbecue. Such use would require the commission to assign a booth in a suitable location separate from propane users. The public works department has indicated that they will install the required fencing which will avoid public access to the barbecue area. Commission approved to assign a booth in an appropriate location, thus eliminating this organization from the selection process. b. One organization is requesting approval to set up a canopy for facepainting instead of a booth. Canopy will be set up in the non propane users area. Commission approved this request. c. One organization is requesting authorization to bring in an inflatable bouncing clown castle. This would be set up near the swimming pool/softball field. Commission approved this request, provided that all requirements with regard to insurance liability are met. P & R Minutes June 1, 1994 d. One organization is requesting approval to sell snow cones from a cart rather than from a booth. The snowcone equipment is too large to fit into a booth, therefore, it would be necessary to set up the cart instead of a booth. This cart would be set up in the non propane users area. Commission approved this request provided however, that the cart is situated next to the sponsoring organization. e. One organization is requesting to rent their own booth from an outside rental agency. This would be used as a pie throwing booth and can be situated with the non propane users. Commission approved this request. RECREATION DIRECTOR REVIEW COMMITTEE.
