are not working properly. The repairs are estimated at $1,200
and $2,900 for replacement. The General Contractor has filed

SPONTANEOUS COMMUNICATIONS
April 2, 1997
PICNIC AREA DISPUTE Pat Gallardo, 4612 Fraijo, expressed concern that the police
department is not receiving copies of the picnic area
reservation forms. Ms. Gallardo's family had a reservation on
section 2. When her party arrived, an unknown parkgoer had
set up his picnic in section 2 and he refused to move. The
police department was reluctant to enforce the relocation of the
unknown person because they had not received a copy of the
approved application form. Fortunately, Mr. Dave Martinez,
who was an attender at the Gallardo function, was present and
able to obtain a copy from his files in his office.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM Ms. Linda Marez, 16047 Pepper Tree Ln, addressed the issue
of the recreation department's consideration of using city
residents to volunteer as chaperons to children on city
sponsored trips. Ms. Marez expressed concern that a person
with a questionable reputation or an unknown character would
be assigned to the children and asked how the department
planned to screen their prospective volunteers.
ADJOURNMENT Upon motion, meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m
