HomeMy WebLinkAbout00568 CITY OF IRWINDALE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 5 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FIRE PREVENTION CODE FOR THE CITY OF IRWINDALE, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF AND THAT THE ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Council finds and declares that an Ordinance establishing a Fire Prevention Code for the City of Irwindale, California is necessary to preserve the public health, safety, and welfare of the city. SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be known as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Irwindale, and shall be cited as such. SECTION III. There is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Irwindale, except as it is hereafter amended, Ordinance No. 2947 of the County of Los Angeles entitled "An Ordinance Establishing a Fire Prevention Code for the County of Los Angeles, and repeal- ing Ordinances Nos. 673, 749 823, 1424, 1559, 1858, 1897, 2202, 2695 (New Seriesj." Three (3) copies of said Ordinance No. 2947 of the County of Los Angeles, California, as amended, and in effect as of February 5, 1957, have been deposited with the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale and shall be at all times maintained by said Clerk for use and examination by the public. SECTION IV. Said Ordinance 2947 of the County of Los Angeles as hereinabove adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Irwindale is amended as follows: A. Section 105 is amended by striking therefrom the words "unincorporated territory of the County of Los Angeles", and by substituting therefor the words, "City of Irwindale"; B. Wherever in the Ordinance, other than in Section 105 thereof, reference is made to the unincorporated area of the County of Los Angeles, such area shall be deemed to include in its true geographical location the area of the City of Irwindale. 60 SECTION V. Any permit heretofore issued by the County of Los Angeles pursuant to the Fire Prevention Code of said County for work within the territorial limits of the City of Irwindale shall remain in full force and effect according to its terms. SECTION VI. This Ordinance, being an Urgency Ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and shall remain in effect to and including June 30, 1958, unless sooner repealed, and the same shall be postedin the three public places within the City Limits of the City of j Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution No. 57-1. On August 7, 1957, he securely and conspicuously posted at each of the public places in said City, to wit: (1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue (2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue (3) Southwest corner of Arrow Highway and Irwindale Avenue a copy of Ordinance No. 5 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
