AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR DISPOSITION OF ABANDONED VEHICLES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The Sheriff shall remove to a safe
place every vehicle which has been parked or left standing
upon a highway for one hundred twenty or more consecutive
hours.
SECTION II. As used in this section the words
"safe place" include, but are not confined to, any garage,
parking lot, or open space, owned by, maintained by, or
under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles, and
also every privately owned garage the owner or proprietor
of which will accept such vehicles.
SECTION III. The City of Irwindale was incorpor-
ated on August 6, 1957, and the City Council thereof has
not yet adopted any legislation with respect to the fore-
going matters, which affect the peace, health, and safety
of the residents of the City of Irwindale. This Ordinance
is, therefore, required for the immediate preservation
of the public health, peace, and safety, and the same
shall take effect immediately upon the passage thereof.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall take immediate
effect after the date of its adoption and the same shall
be posted in three public places within the City Limits
of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution
No. 57-1.
PASSED and APPROVED this 6th day of August, 1957.

MIKE MARTINEZ, being first duly sworn, deposes
That he is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale,
California, and is and was at all times herein mentioned
a citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen
(18) years and competent to be a witness herein.
On August 7, 1957, he securely and conspicuously
posted at each of the public places in said City, to wit:
(1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue
(3) Southwest corner of Arrow Highway
and Irwindale Avenue
a copy of Ordinance No. 8 of the City of Irwindale, being
in all respects the same as that attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
