CITY OF IRWINDALE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
ORDINANCE NO. 46
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, library services are now being maintained for the
inhabitants of the City of Irwindale; and
WHEREAS, Section 22201, et seq., of the Education Code -of
the State of California provides a formal procedure for the
establishment, management, and operation of a library which
will permit the City Council of said City to delegate the duties
which it is now performing.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Establishment of Library. A public library
for the City of Irwindale is hereby es a lisped.
SECTION 2. Management and O eratioh. Said library shall
be managed by a Boar ,oirLi ray rum atees, which shall operate
and manage said library in accordance with the applicable laws
of this State and such rules andregulationsas said Board shall
make. The members of said Board of Library Trustees shall be
appointed in accordance with the applicable laws of this State.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect thirty days after the ate of its adoption and, prior
to the expiration of fifteen days from the passage thereof,
shall be posted in three public places within the city limits
of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution No. 57-1.

deposes and says:
That he is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale,
California, and is and was at all times herein mentioned a
citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen (18)
years and competent to be a witness herein.
On Marchi , 1958, he securely and conspicuously posted
at each of the public places in said city, to wit:
(1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue
(3) Southwest corner of Arrow Highway and
Irwindale Avenue
a copy of Ordinance No. 46 of the City of Irwindale, being
in all respects the, same` `as"that attached hereto and made
a part hereof.
