ORDINANCE NO. 53
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A CITY TREASURER BY ORDER
OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND ESTABLISHING A RATE OF PAY FOR CITY
TREASURER.
WHEREAS, the City Council has by Resolution No. 57-26
provided for the appointment of the City Treasurer and estab-
lished a salary for the City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer has been and may be appoint-
ed by order of the City Council and without special resolu-
tion; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council to
provide for the appointment to City Treasurer by order of
the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWIN-
DALE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Treasurer shall be appointed
by the order of the City Council of the City of Irwindale.
SECTION 2. The City Treasurer shall receive a salary of
Fifty Dollars ($50) per month, payable monthly.
SECTION 3. The City Treasurer shall serve at the
pleasure of the City Council.
SECTION 4. The provisions of this ordinance, in so far
as they are substantially the same as the provisions of
Resolution No. 57-26 relating to the same subject, shall be
construed as restatements and continuations thereof and not
as new enactments.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect thirty
(30) days after the date of its adoption and, prior to the
expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof
shall be posted in three public places within the city limits
of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution No. 57-1.

Ordinance No. 53
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the above Ordinance No. 53 was
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a special
meeting of the City Council held for such purpose on the
16 day of June , 1958. That not less than 5 days thereafter
said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meet-
ing of the City Council on the 23 day of June, 1958, by
the following vote, to wit:
Ayes DIAZ, GARCIA, MARTINEZ, ORNELAS
Noes NONE Absent SILVA
I FURTHER CERTIFY that said ordinance was thereupon
signed by the Mayor of the City of Irwindale.
