ORDINANCE N0. 64

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF IRWINDALE AMENDING THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY.
r The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following change of zone was duly initiated, that
notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published, that public
hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission and City
Council, and that the public convenience and necessity and the
general welfare require that the following change and amendment be
made.
SECTION 2. The Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby
amended by the addition of a new Section 9101.1 reading as follows:
"9101.1. Change of Zone. Nothwithstanding the
provisions of Section 9101 of this Code, the following described pro-
perty located at the corner of Cypress and Irwindale Avenues is here-
by changed from Zone A-1-6000 to Zone C-1, to -wit:
That portion of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 9, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino
r— Meridian, in the City of Irwindale, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as per Plat on file in the Bureau of Land Management, des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Irwindale Avenue, 40 feet wide, as shown on County Surveyor's Filed
MapNo. 12034, Sheet 3 on file in the office of the County Engineer
of said County, with the southerly line of said northwest quarter,
said southerly line being the center line of Cypress Avenue, 33 feet
wide, as shown on said map; thence easterly along said southerly
line to a line which is parallel with and 215.00 feet easterly,
measured at right angles from said center line of Irwindale Avenue;
thence northerly along said parallel line to a line which is
parallel with said southerly line and 190.00 feet northerly,
measured at right angles from said southerly line; thence west-
erly along said last described parallel line to said center line
of Irwindale Avenue to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion thereof lying with-
in Irwindale and Cypress Avenues.
A permit is hereby granted for the maintenance
upon said property of any signs in conjunction with the operation
of a service station thereon which would be legally permitted in
conjunction with the operation of a service station in Zone C-3."
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be posted in the
manner provided by law.
Passed and approved this 17th day of February, 1959.

I. MAXINE HORST, City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 64 regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting
of the City Council on the 3rd day of February, 1959. That,
thereafter, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a Am%
regular meeting of the City Council on the 17th day of February,
1959, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Diaz, Martinez, Miranda, Councilwoman Silva
Mayor Ornelas.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

MAXINE HORST, being first duly sworn, deposes and says:
That she is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California,
and is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States
over the age of eighteen (18) years and competent to be a witness herein.
On February 20, 1959, she securely and conspicuously posted at
each of the public places in said city, to -wit:
(1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue
(3) Southwest corner of Arrow Highway and Irwindale
a copy of Ordinance No. 64 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects
the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
