AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
IRWINDALE AMENDING THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING CHAPTER 2 TO ARTICLE III THEREOF AND ADOPT-
ING, BY REFERENCE, AS SAID CHAPTER, LOS ANGELES
COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 2947 AS AMENDED, SAID ORDINANCE
BEING THE FIRE CODE FOR SAID COUNTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Irwindale Municipal Code hereby is amended
by adding thereto a new chapter consisting of Sections 3200 through
3202 to read, respectively, as follows:
"CHAPTER 2 - FIRE PREVENTION CODE

chapter, that certain ordinance of the County of Los Angeles, being
Ordinance No. 2947 as amended, three printed copies of which were
ordered filed by the City Council and actually have been filed in the
office of the City Clerk of said city and which, as so on file, here-
by are referred to and, by this reference, expressly incorporated
herein and made a part hereof as fully and for all intents and pur-
poses as though set forth herein at length, shall be, and the same
hereby is, adopted and established as the rules, regulations, stan-
dards, provisions, and conditions relating to certain fire hazards,
fire prevention regulations, and other matters therein set forth,
as the standards, provisions, and conditions to be observed within
the City of Irwindale.
"3201 Same. Interpretation. Whenever in said Ordinance No.
2947 the worcTs TrBoard of Super rs" appear, the words "City Council"
shall be substituted therefor. The Chief of the Fire Department and
the Fire Department officers designated in said Ordinance No. 2947
shall be deemed to be the Chief of the Fire Department and Fire De-
partment officers of the City, so long as a contractual relationship
exists between the City and County whereby the County, through its
officers and employees, provides fire protection service for the
City of Irwindale.
"Whenever in said Ordinance No. 2947 the words "County of Los
Angeles" appear, there should be substituted therefor the word "City"
and whenever in said ordinance reference is made to the unincorpora-
ted territory of the County of Los Angeles or any similar phrase re-
ferring to said incorporated territory is used, these phrases shall
be construed to include and to refer to the incorporated territory
of the City.
"3202 Previous Permits. Any permit heretofore issued by the
County of Los Ang7 es or=e City, pursuant to the Fire Prevention
Code of said county or Ordinance No. 5 or No. 50 of said city for
work within the territory limits of the City shall remain in full
force and effect according to its terms."
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 50 of the City of Irwindale
hereby is repealed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and cause the same to be posted in the manner
required by law.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 75 was regu-
larly introduced and placed upon itq first reading a a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 21 day of1959.
That, thereafter, said ordinance was duly approve an passed at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 18 day of August ,
1959, by the following vote, to wit:

That she is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California,
and is and,'was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the
United States over the age of eighteen (18) years and, competent
to be a witness herein.
On January 7, 1959, she securely and conspicuously posted at
each of the public places in said City, to -wit:
(1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue
(3) Southwest corner of Arrow Highway and
IrWind,ale Avenue.
a copy of Ordinance No. 75 of the City of Irwindale, being
in all respects the same as that attached and made a part hereof.
