AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
IRWINDALE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY OF
THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO
SAID CITY DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION NO. 59-30 ADOPTED
BY SAID CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 7, 1959, AND DESIGNATED
THEREIN AS "ANNEXATION NO. 1"

SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Irwindale
did, on its own motion on July 7, 1959, adopt Resolution No. 59-30
entitled "A Resolution Declaring That Proceedings Have Been Initiated
by Council of the City of Irwindale to Annex to Said City Certain Un-
inhabited Territory Described Herein and Designated 'Annexation No. 1,
and Giving Notice of Such Proposed Annexation," which resolution re-
cited that the proceedings for the annexation of the territory herein-
after described were initiated on the said Councills own motion, and
stated the reasons for which the said Council desires to annex said
territory, and which resolution further specifically described the
boundaries of the territory sought to be included in said city, and
fixed August 18, 1959, at the hour of 8:00 o!clock P.M. in the
Council chambers of the City Council of said city as the day, hour,
and place for any person owning real property within such territory
so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed
annexation, to show cause why such territory should not be annexed.
SECTION 2. That, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on August 18, 1959, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the
Council chambers of said City Council in the Irwindale City Hall,
5140 North Irwindale Avenue, Irwindale, California, and at said time
and place of hearing, said City Council did find and determine that
the publication of Resolution No. 59-30 has been made at the times
and in the manner required by Section 35311 of the Government Code
of the State of California, and that written notice of such proposed
annexation has been mailed to each person entitled to notice under
Section 35311 (a) of said Government Code as required thereby; that
the annexation of said territory is not prohibited either by Section
35002.5 or by Section 35326 of said Government Code; that the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed as described by said Resolution No. 59-30
was, and is, uninhabited and is contiguous to the City of Irwindale;
that protest was not made by the owners of one-half of the value of
the said territory, as shown by the last equalized assessment roll.
SECTION 3. That, under and pursuant to, and in accordance
with, the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of
California entitled "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939,
the annexation to the City of Irwindale of that certain uninhabited
r^ territory contiguous to said city as described in Resolution No.
59-30 adopted by the City Council of said city on July 7, 1959,
therein designated as "Annexation No. 11" be, and the same hereby is
ratified, confirmed, and approved.
That a specific description of the boundaries of said ter-
ritory, as submitted to and favorably reported upon by the Boundary
Commission of Los Angeles County, pursuant to Section 35002 of the
California Government Code, is as follows:
That portion of the unincorporated area of the County of Los Angeles,
State of California described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the City of Irwindale boundary line as
same existed April 27, 1959, said. angle point being the southeasterly
corner of the northeast one quarter of the southeast one-quarter of

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall forthwith upon the taking
effect of this ordinance make and certify under the seal of said City
of Irwindale and transmit to the Secretary of State of California a
copy of this ordinance giving the date of its passage.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration thereof
shall be posted in the manner required by law.
