HomeMy WebLinkAbout097ORDINANCE NO. 97 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE INCREASING MEMBERSHIP OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION, AND MODIFYING SECTION 2401 OF THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE. The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2401. of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety, and the following section is hereby made a part of the said Code in lieu thereof: "2401. Members. The Planning Commission shall consist of a total of seven (7) members, of which five (5) shall be appoint- ive members, and two (2) shall be ex officio members designated from the membership of the City council. Each and every member of the Planning Commission shall have one vote on every issue which comes before the Commission requiring a vote thereon. Every member of the Planning Commission shall be a resident of the City and a registered voter during his (her) respective term of office. The appointment of members of the Planning Commission, and the removal thereof, shall be in the manner specified in the State Planning Law, while the designation of members of the City Council as ex officio members of the Planning Commission shall be at the discretion of the Mayor." SECTION 2. This Ordinance does not apply, with respect to the requirement of residence and being a registered voter of the City, to any member of the Planning Commission who is in office on or be- fore the day of adoption and then serving a current term, during that term or any consecutive extension thereof. SECTION 3. Publication. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest to same, and the same shall be posted immediately thereafter in three (3) public places within the City Limits of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution No. 60-8. On February 7, 1961, he securely and conspicuously posted at each of the public places in said City, to -wit: (1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue, (2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue; (3) Door of storage room located in Irwindale Park; a copy of Ordinance No. 97 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
