AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING AN OFFICIAL INSIGNIA FOR THE
IRWINDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE UNAUTHORIZED
USE THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Irwindale hereby adopts, as the
official insignia and identifying symbol of its Police Department, the
following insignia which shall be an impression of the badge of the
Irwindale Police Department, said insignia to consist of a shield with
eagle mounted thereon, its wings spread the width of the said shield.
Inscribed thereon shall be a circle with letters at the top: "IRWINDALE",
and letters at the bottom: "DEPT. " On a horizontal banner across the
middle of the shield will be the larger letters: "POLICE". The color
of said insignia shall be gold, with black printing and overlay.
SECTION 2. A facsimile of the official insignia and
identifying symbol, to be the official insignia of the Irwindale Police
Department, shall be as follows:
SECTION 3. The said Official insignia and identifying
symbol shall be prominently displayed on all vehicles of the Irwindale
Police Department, and on such other equipment as the Chief of Police
may from time to time determine in his discretion.
SECTION 4. The said official insignia and identifying symbol
may not be used by any person or persons for any reason other than as
specified herein, except with the written permission of the Irwindale Chief
of Police. Pursuant to the provisions of California Government Code,
Sections 36901 et seq. , any violation of this ordinance shall be deemed to
be a misdemeanor, and any person so convicted of said violation will be
punished in accordance with the provisions of Section 19 of the California
Penal Code.
SECTION 5. Publication. The Mayor shall sign this
Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest to same, and the same shall
be posted immediately thereafter in three (3) public places within the
City Limits of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution,
Number 61-20-230.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the introduction,
adoption and passage of this Ordinance.

I, Lee B. Maung, Acting City Clerk of the City of Irwindale
do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 105 was regularly
introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the 2nd day of October, 1961. That, thereafter, said
Ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 6th day of November, 1961, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen: Miranda, Diaz, Martinez and Breceda.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen: Silva.

LEE B. YOUNG, being first duly sworn, deposes and says;
That she is the Acting City Clerk of the City of Irwindale,
California, that she is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen
of the United States over the age of eighteen (18) years and competent to
be a witness herein.
On November 7, 1961, she securely and conspicuously
posted at each of the public places in said City, to -wit:
1. 5140 North Irwindale Avenue;
2. Post Office on Irwindale Avenue;
3. At or near the door of the Council Chambers,
5050 North Irwindale Avenue;
a copy of Ordinance No. 105 of the City of Irwindale being in all respects
the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
