HomeMy WebLinkAbout1121- a , ORDINANCE NO. 112 1, \ AN ORDINANCE OF THE C ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE MAKING CERTAIN CHANGES IN THE BUSINESS LICENSE ORDINANCE AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE IMMEDIATE ADOPTION HEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: _,, SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 6253 of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor; "6253. Maximum Fee, Sliding Scale. The license fees im- posed hereunder by Section 6251 as amended, shall be the maximum fee payable by such respective business, profession, trade, and occupation, as the case may be. The said maximum fee is subject to a reduction as herein provided, to -wit;" SECTION 2. Section 6252.18 of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor; "6252.18. Deliveries. Retail wholesale delivery by groceries by traveling grocery store or bus $100.00 Retail or wholesale delivery by vehicle of goods, liquids, and materials including edibles and all other types of retail dealer including pick-up and delivery where no fixed place of business within the City, per vehicle" $15.00 SECTION 3. Section 6252. 23a is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor; "a. Peddlers of liquids or edibles: Every person peddling, selling or delivery liquids or e i les for human consumption from packs, baskets, handcarts, wagons or other vehicles, retail from door to door, except persons selling or deliverying, or both, to retail establishments for resale, agricultural products raised by them, shall pay a license fee for first vehicle of $25.00 For each additional vehicle" $15.00 SECTION 4. Section 6252.25 (d) of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor: "d. Junk Collectors. Junk collector means a person engaged in the business within , the City of going from house to house, or place to place, gathering, collecting, buying, selling or otherwise dealing in any old rags, sacks, bottles, cans, papers, metals, furniture, appliances or other articles commonly known as junk. $25.00-A Per Vehicle" (City Clerk Permit Required Section 6279 (I) ). il 17 SECTION 5. Section 6252.32 (c) and (d) of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby deleted and the following substituted therefor; "c. Vending Machines - Merchandise and other coin operated vending machines not otherwuse provided for herein: 1. Where deposit of 9¢ or less is required per machine $.50-A 2. Where deposit of 10¢ or more is . required -per machine $.75-A d. Vending Machines - Coin operated stamp vending machines - per machine. $. 50-A (City Clerk Permit Required Section 6279 (v) ). " ! SECTION 6. The City of Irwindale declares this Ordinance to be an urgency Ordinance for the immediate enactment thereof. The Reasons for such urgency are: 1. That it is in the best interests of the City of Irwindale that the amendments made herein to the licensing fees shall be more in keeping with the surrounding cities. 2. That it is necessary to adopt this Ordinance immediately so that the new fiscal year can be started with the new licensing fees as provided for herein. 3. That it is advisable to provide for these new fees immediately due to the increase in these types of businesses at this time of year. SECTION 7. The City Clerk of the City of Irwindale shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted according to law in the City of Irwindale, and to notice the immediate effectiveness of this Ordinance. SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be effective at once. Passed, approved and adopted this 30th day' of April, 1962. Young, being first duly sworn, deposes and says; That she is the acting City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California, and is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen (18) years and competent to be a witness herein. On May 1, 1962, she securely and conspicuously posted at each of the public places in said City, to -wit; (1) 5140 Irwindale Avenue, (2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue, and (3) at or near the door of the Council Chambers, 5050 North Irwindale Avenue, a copy of Ordinance 112 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects the same as that attached hereto and made apart hereof.
