AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING SECTION 9105 TO THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE ZONING
OF ANNEXED AREAS, AND PROVIDING FOR
THE IMMEDIATE ADOPTION HEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES
ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. A new Section 9105, reading as follows, is
hereby added to the Irwindale Municipal Code:
"9105. Territory hereafter annexed to the City of Irwindale
or consolidated therewith shall retain the same zoning and shall be subject
to the same restrictions existing under the zoning ordinance of the County
or other municipality to which it was subject at the time of annexation or
consolidation unless the City Council shall otherwise provide by interim
ordinance or by ordinance 'changing said zoning as herein provided adopted
prior to or concurrently with the ordinance of annexation or consolidation.
Where territory is annexed or consolidated, subject to the zoning existing
in the County or other municipal jurisdiction prior to such annexation or
consolidation, the Planning Commission shall, as soon as practicable,
conduct proceedings to place the said territory within zones created and
established by this ordinance. Proposed changes of zone affecting territory
to be annexed to or consolidated with the City of Irwindale may be initiated
and hearings held thereon prior to the effective date of annexation or con-
solidation, to be effective upon annexation or consolidation. "
SECTION 2. The City of Irwindale declares this Ordinance to
be an urgency Ordinance for the immediate�nactment thereof. The reason
for such urgency is that there are annexation proceedings pending for which
it is necessary to pre -zone said proposed annexed property; and the City
Council considers it to be in the best interest for the health, safety and
welfare of the City of Irwindale for said annexation proceedings to be
completed as soon as possible.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk of the City of Irwindale shall
certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
posted according to law in the City of Irwindale, and to notice the
immediate effectiveness of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall beeffective at once.

I, Margaret S. Barbosa, Deputy City Clerk of the
City of Irwindale, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance
No. 116 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first
reading at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 20th
day of August, 1962. That, thereafter, said Ordinance was duly
adopted and passed at an adjourned meeting of the City Council
on the 4th day of September, 1962, by the following vote, to -
wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Miranda, Martinez, Sulzer & Diaz.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Breceda

LEE B. YOUNG, being first duly sworn, deposes and says;
That she is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California,
and is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States
over the age of eighteen (18) years and competent to be a witness herein.
On August 21, 1962, she securely and conspicuously posted
at each sof the public places in said City, to -wit:
(1) 5140 North Irwindale Avenue;
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue; and
(3) At or near the door of the Council Chambers,
5050 North Irwindale Avenue,
a copy of Ordinance No. 116 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects
the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
