AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNIN-
HABITED
NIN-
HABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED
"NQ. 2" TO THE CITY OF IR W IND AL E.
BE IT O R DAINED BY TH E CO UNCIL O F TH E CITY O F
IR WIND ALE: ,
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of January , 1963, the Council of
the City of Irwindale did pass and adopt Resolution No. 63-2-347, giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory in the City of
Irwindale, said territory being therein designated as "No. 2", said
resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 63-2-347 did contain a
notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City
would hear protests made by .any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less
than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage of said
R esolution: and
WH E R EAS, on the 18th day of February, 1963, at the hour
of 7:00 P.1\4. , in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of
Irwindale, County of Los Angeles,. State of California, said time and place
being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 63-2-347 for
hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear and
pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine
that protests had not been made by the owners of one half of the value of
the,privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last
equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of
the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said
legislative body; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Irwindale
and is iuiinhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles;
NOW, TH ER EFO R E , the said Council of the City of Irwindale
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to
the City of Irwindale, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory
be and is hereby annexed to the City of Irwindale.
That said territory, the annexation,of which to the City of
Irwindale is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of Sections 9 and 16, Township 1, South Range 10
West, S.B.M. , in the County of Los Angeles and State of California
described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 26 of Tract No.
21053 as shown on map recorded in Book 587, Pages 32 and
33 of Maps, records of said county; thence southerly along
the west.line of said Lot 26 to the north line of Ballentine
Place, 60 feet wide, as shown on said map; thence westerly
along said north line to the west line of said Ballentine Place;
thence southerly along the west line of said Tract No. 21053;
thence westerly along the north line of San Bernardino Road,
66 feet wide, as shown on said map, and its westerly pro-
longation to the center line of Irwindale Avenue, 40 feet wide,
as shown on said map; thence northerly along said last
mentioned center line to the easterly prolongation of the
north line of Tract No. 17517 recorded in Book 438, pages 1
and 2 of Maps, records of said county; thence northerly along
the boundary line of the City of Irwindale, as same existed on
August 20, 1962, to the westerly prolongation of the south line
of lot 241 of Tract No. 18313 recorded in Book 500, Pages 34
50 36 inclusive of Maps, records of said county; thence
easterly in a direct line to the northwest corner of Lot 233 of
said Tract No. 18313; thence southerly along the west line of
Lot 233 of said Tract No. 18313 and its southerly prolongation
to the center line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right -of -Way
as shown on the map of said Tract No. 18313; thence westerly
along said last mentioned center line to the northerly prolonga-
tion of the west line of Lot 26 of said Tract No. 21053; thence
southerly along said prolonged line to the point of beginning.
The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall
attest to same, and the same shall be posted immediately thereafter in
three (3) public places within the City Limits of the City of Irwindale, as
prescribed by Resolution of the City Council of the City of Irwindale.

hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 125 was regularly intro-
duced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 4th day of March, 1963. That, thereafter, said Ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 18th day of March, 1963, by the following vote of the Council: to -wit:

Lee B. Young, being first duly sworn, deposes and says;
That she is the City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California,
and is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States
over the age of eighteen (18) years and competent to be a witness herein.
On March 19, 1963, she securely and conspicuously posted at
each of the public places in said City, to -wit;
(1) 16034 Calle de Norte;
(2) Post Office on Irwindale Avenue; and
(3) At or near the door of the Council Chambers,
5050 North Irwindale Avenue,
a copy of Ordinance No. 125 of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects
the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
