HomeMy WebLinkAbout141160 ORDINANCE NO. 141 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE AMENDING SECTIONS 6214 AND 6215 OF THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO LICENSE FEES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN: SECTION a. The second paragraph of Section 6214 of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Fees Payable in Advance_. All license fees shall be pii3d in advance to the City Clerk in lawful money of the United States. The amount to be paid shall be determined the City Clerk in accordance with the terms and provisions of this Chapter. In case of dispute, the decision of the City Attorney as to the amount to be paid pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter shall be final. Whenever any license fee is measured in whole or in part by gross receipts, it shall be computed upon the gross receipts of the preceding calendar year. If the business was in operation within the City during only a portion of the preceding year, the gross receipts shall be computed for the entire year at the same rate as the actual gross receipts are computed for the portion of the year during which the business was in operation. For the first year of operation of a business within the City, the gross receipts shall be estimated and the license fee computed and paid thereon, by apportioning the gross receipts so estimated and computing the license fee payable for only the remainder of the year, and adjustment shall be made by refund or additional payment based upon the actual gross receipts during said calendar year within thirty (30) days after the close of the calendar year during which the business commences operation. A certified true statement of gross receipts during each month shall be filed with the City Clerk within thirty (30) days after the close of such month." SECTION 2. Section 6215 of the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby amended to add the following sub -Section thereunder: "G. License for new business, within ten (10) days from the first day the business begins operating." SECTION 3. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest to same, and the same shall be posted immediately thereafter in three (3) public places within the City Limits of the City of Irwindale, as prescribed by Resolution No. 60-8. Young, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That she is the duly appointed and City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, California, and is and was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen(18) years and competent to be a witness herein. On April 7, 1964, she securely and conspicuously posted at each of the public places in said city, to -wit: 1. 16034 Calle de Norte; 2. Post Office on Irwindale Avenue; and 3. At or near the door of the Council Chambers, 5050 North Irwindale Avenue, a copy of Ordinance No. 141.of the City of Irwindale, being in all respects the same as that attached hereto and made a part hereof.
