AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF IRWINDALE ADDING CHAPTER 2(a) TO ARTICLE
II OF THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE, CONSISTING
OF SECTIONS 2250s 2251 and 2252, RELATING TO
THE CREATION OF A POSITION ENTITLED DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2(a) consisting of Sections
2250, 2251 and 2252 is hereby added to Article II of the Irwindale
Municipal Code, to read, respectively, as follows:
"Chapter 2(a) Director of Finance
"2250. Department of Finance. The Department of
Finance for the City of Irwindale is hereby created and
established. Said Department shall maintain and
supervise a general accounting system for each i of the
offices, departments and agencies of the City.'
"2251. Same. Director of Finance. The office of
Director of F=nance for the City of Irwindale is hereby,�
created and established.
(a) Appointment. The Director of Finance shall be
appointed by, and shall serve at, the pleasure of the
City Council.
(b) Compensation. Compensation for the office of
Director of Finance shall be established by the City
Council by resolution. I
(c) Bond. The Director of Finance shall furnish
'to the City a corporate surety bond in the sum of $25,000.00
conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties
imposed upon said office. Premium for said bond shall be
a proper charge against the City."
"2252. Same. Duties of. The Director of Finance
shall perform the following duties:
(a) Act as the department head for the Department
of Finance. I
(b) Prepare, under the supervision of the City
Manager, the budget and expense and income estimates for
the City.
(c) Supervise and be responsible for the disbursement
of all funds under the control of the City.
(d) Audit and approve prior to payment,all bills,
invoices and claims against the City.
(e) Supervise and maintain current inventories of
all City property.

(f) Perform all the financial and accounting
duties heretofore imposed upon the office of City
Clerk, pursuant to Section 40802, et seq. of the
Government Code of the State of California.
(g) Perform such other duties as may be
prescribed by the City Manager and/or City Council."
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in
the manner prescribed by law.

Sulzer.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mayor Diaz.

City of Irwindale, California, and is and was at all times herein
mentioned a citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen
(18) years and competent to be witness herein.

On August 19, 1965, she securely and conspicuously
posted at each of the public places in said City, to wit:
1. 16034 Calle del Norte;
2. Post Office on Irwindale Avenue; and
3. At or near the door of the Council Chambers,
5050 North Irwindale Avenue.

all respects the same as that attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
