yr S AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF IRWINDALE ADDING SECTION
6256 TO THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING TO BUSINESS LICENSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Irwindale Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding Section 6256 thereto, to read as follows:
"6256. BUSINESS LICENSE TAX - LAND
EXCAVATION. Notwithstanding any other
provision of this Code relating to business
license taxes, and, in lieu of all other
business license taxes imposed hereby, there
is hereby imposed, upon each person engaged
in the business of extracting and/or
processing of rock, sand or gravel or similar
material (hereinafter "material"), from any
real property located within the City of
Irwindale, for the purpose of commercial use
thereof, in fill, construction or similar
operations, other than on the property where
so excavated, a business license tax of
$0.02 per ton of material extracted whether
or not thereafter processed, for the use
above described."
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall not be effective
or operative for any purpose, until May 1, 1969.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted
in the manner prescribed by law.

do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 227 was regularly
introduced, adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City
Council on the 15th day of April, 1969, by the following vote:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: Mike Miranda;
IN ABSTENTION: COUNCILMEN: CHICO.

I, Margaret S. Barbosa, being first duly sworn, deposes
and says: that she is the duly appointed and City Clerk of the City
of Irwindale, California, and is and was at all times herein
mentioned a citizen of the United States over the age of eighteen
years and competent to be a witness herein.
On April 22, 1969, she securely and conspicuously posted
at each of the three designated plblic places in said City.
