ORDINANCE NO. 232
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF IRWINDALE REPEALING
SECTION 6256 OF, AND ADDING NEW
SECTION 6257 TO, THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO BUSINESS
LICENSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 6256 of the Irwindale Municipal
Code is repealed, effective September 1, 1969; provided, however
that such repeal shall not affect any indebtedness due, tax
due, or other claim for any license taxes due to the City and
incurred under Section 6256 from May 1, 1969 to September 1, 1969
SECTION 2. A new Section 6257, reading as follows,
is hereby added to the City of Irwindale Municipal Code effective
September 1, 1969;
"6257. BUSINESS LICENSE TAX - LAND EXCAVATION.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code
relating to business license taxes, and, in lieu
of all other business license taxes imposed hereby,
there is hereby imposed, upon each person engaged
in the business of extracting and/or processing of
rock, sand or gravel or similar material (hereinafter
"material"), from any real property located within
the City of Irwindale, for the purpose of commercial
use thereof, in fill, construction or similar
operations, other than on the property where so
excavateddva us'iness license tax of $0.01 per ton
of material extracted and/or processed, for the use
above described."
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted
in the manner prescribed by law.

232 was regularly introduced, duly passed at a regular meeting,
of the City Council on the 21st day of August, 1969, by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Breceda, Pat Miranda, Barbosa
and Mayor Chico.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mike Miranda.

posted at each of the three designated public places in said
City.
