AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING NEW CHAPTER 10 TO ARTICLE II,
COMMENCING WITH SECTION 2950 OF THE
IRWINDALE MNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED
"HOLIDAYS"

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. A new Chapter 10 is hereby added to
II of the Municipal Code of the City of Irwindale as
Sec. 2950. Holidays .
All employees shall be entitled to the
following legal holidays each year:
January 1
February 12
February (3rd Monday)
March or April - - -
May (last Monday)
July 4th
;September (1st Monday)
September 9
October 12
October (4th Monday)
November (4th Thursday)
December 25th
New Year's Day
Lincoln's Birthday
Washington's Birthday
Good Friday - 12:00 to,3:00
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Admission Day
Columbus Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
Any day a municipal election is held:
Anyday appointed by the President or Governor as a public
holiday, subject to approval of the City Council, and any
other day designated by the Council.
When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following
Monday will be the official day off; when a holiday
falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday will be the
official day off.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective January
1, 1971.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in
the manner prescribed by law.

I, MARGARET BARBOSA, City Clerk of the City of
Irwindale, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance,
being Ordinance No. 237, was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Iriwndale, held
on the 18th day of June, 1970, and was duly passedS approved
and adopted by said Council, approved and signed by the Mayor
and attested by the City Clerk at a regular meeting of the said
City Council held on the 18th day of June, 1970, by the
following vote:
AYES Councilmen Breceda, Chico, Diaz and Mike Miranda
NOES None
ABSENT: Councilman Pat Miranda.
