AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE ADDING
NEW SECTION 9391 TO THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO
LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. Section 9391, reading as follows, is hereby
added to the Irwindale Municipal Code:
9391. Landscaping Requirements. The following
shall be observed where landscaping is required by
the provisions of this Code, as to any property zoned
C -M, M-1, or M-2 (For Q Zone Regulations refer to
Section 9501.).
(a) Pavement. Pavement shall be installed in
the required landscaping areas, only where necessary
to provide pedestrian and vehicular access to
structures and parking areas on the Lot. The
pavement shall be asphalt or concrete constructed
and maintained in accordance with City standards.
Such pavement shall occupy no more than twenty
percent (20%) of any required landscaped area.
(b) General. Areas required to be Landscaped
shall be maintained with ground cover, shrubs and
trees, as follows:
i) Ground cover, consisting of the various
species of ivy or ice plant shall be planted
at a maximum of 14 inches on center;
(provided that variegated ivy shall not be
permitted and all other types of ivy shall
be subject to approval of the City Engineer).
ii) Colored aggregate and other landscaping
materials, such as redwood bark, may be
substituted for ground cover.
iii) Not less than twenty percent (20%) of
the area required to be landscaped shall be
planted with trees and shrubs. The type of
species shall be compatible with the lot
size and building size, and consistent with
good landscaping practice.
iv) The areas required to be landscaped by
Sections 9471(3), 9948 and 9494, shall be
planted with trees7a4r Uhrubs.

(c) Sprinkler System. A sprinkler system
adequate to irrigate the landscaped areas shall be
installed in accordance with the Plumbing Code of
the City.

Ordinance No. 250
(d) Street Parkway. Parkways between eurb
lines and the front property lines, shall be land-
scaped in accordance with this section, and
compatible with the landscaping on the lot.
(e) Plans. All plans for landscaping and
sprinklers shall be submitted to and approved by
the City Engineer prior to issuance of any building
permit for any structure on the same lot. Such
landscaping and sprinklers shall be installed prior
to final inspection approval of the building permit
work.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in the
manner prescribed by law.

ORDINANCE NO. 249
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE AMENDING
SECTION 4301 TO THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO LICENSE
FEES FOR DOGS (URGENCY ORDINANCE).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 4301 is hereby amended to the
Irwindale Municipal Code, reading as follows:
"4301. License Fees for Dogs.
�^ Notwithstanding the provisions of Section
411 of Ordinance No. 4729 of the County of
Los Angeles, as amended, every person owning
or having custody of any dog over the age of
four (4) months in the City of Irwindale not
covered by the provisions of Section 410 of
said County Ordinance shall first obtain an
annual license from the Director for each of
such dogs and at the same time obtain a dog
license tia.g, and for such license or licenses,
in addition to the One Dollar ($1.00) fee for
the dog license tag, shall pay four Dollars
($4.00), a total of Five Dollars ($5.00) in all."

SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Irwindale
finds and determines that the adoption of the new and current
schedule of license fees is essential for the orderly enforcement
of the County Animal Control Ordinance, and accordingly, that this
Ordinance should become effective immediately in order to protect
the public health, safety and welfare.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in the
manner prescribed by law.
