AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING NEW SECTION 4302 TO THE
IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
ANIMAL IMPOUNDING.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. New Section 4302, reading as follows, is
hereby added to the Irwindale Municipal Code:
SECTION 4302. Fees. (Amending Sections 803,817,818)
SECTION 803. The Director shall hold
all stray bovine animals, horses, mules,
burros impounded by him as provided in
Chapter 7 (commencing with Section 17001)
of Division 9 of the Agricultural Code
of the State of California, If any
person appears and claims any animal
referred to in this section, prior to
the time that it is turned over to
the California State Department of
Agriculture, the Director shall collect
the following fees:
(a) Impounding fee- Twenty five
dollars.
(b) Board and Care - Two dollars
for each day or fraction thereof except
the day of impounding during which the
animal is in the animal shelter.
(c) Except that the Director shall
charge only fifty percent of the above
mentioned fees if the impounded animal is
under three months of age.
SECTION 817. For the redeeming of any
impounded dog, Five dollars ($5.00); for
vaccination by the County Veterinarian
if he has vaccinated such, Three dollars
$3.00); for feeding and caring for any
such dog, One dollar ($1.00) for each
day or fraction thereof during which such
dog is kept in such shelter except the
day on which it is impounded, shall be
collected.
SECTION 818. For redeeming of any
impounded cat, Two dollars ($2.00) and
for feeding and caring for such cat,
fifty cents ($.50) for each day or
fraction thereof during which such cat
is kept in such shelter except the day
on which it is impounded, shall be
collected.

SECTION 2. All provisions of the Irwindale Municipal
Code inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be suspended.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall caus he same to be
processed in the manner prescribed by

Irwindale, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance,
being Ordinance No. 259 , was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Irwindale, held
on the 26th day of October, 1972, and was duly passed,
approved and adopted by said council, approved and signed by
the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a regular meeting of the
said City Council held on the 9th day of November, 1972,
by the following vote:
AYES: Barbosa, Mike Miranda, Joe Breceda, Chico and Diaz
