ORDINANCE NO. 282
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING NEW CHAPTER 10 TO ARTICLE II-,
COMMENCING WITH SECTION 2950 OF THE
IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED
"HOLIDAYS"
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. A new Chapter 10 is hereby added to
Article II of the Municipal Code of the City of Irwindale as
follows:
Sec. 2950. Holidays.
All employees shall be entitled to the following
legal holidays each year:
January 1st
February (3rd Monday)
March or April - - -
May (last Monday)
July 4th
September (1st Monday)
September 9th
October 12th
November 11th
November (4th Thursday)
November (4th Friday)
December 25th
New Years Day
Washington's Birthday
Good Friday - 12:00 to
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Admission Day
Columbus Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day
Any day a municipal election is held.
Any day appointed by the President or Governor as a
public holiday, subject to approval of the City Council,
and any other day designated by the Council.
When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday
will be the official day off; when a holiday falls on
Saturday, the preceding Friday will be the official
day off.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective
January 1, 1975.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in
the manner prescribed by law.

being Ordinance No. 282, was passed, approved and adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on January 23, 1975,
by the following vote of the Council:

and Mayor Michael Miranda
