AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING SECTION 6,258 TO THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO A PERCENTAGE
ADJUSTMENT IN THE RATE OF BUSINESS
LICENSE TAXES BASED UPON THE COST OF LIVING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. New Section 6258, reading as follows, is
hereby added to the Irwindale Municipal Code:
625$. Annual Adjustment of Rates
The rates of business licenses as set forth in
Sections 6251-6257 and the business license tax
on each and every business doing business within
the City of Irwindale (specifically including
those computed an gross receipts, flat rate,
employees, mining or excavation, depletion,
dumping or any other basis) shall be adjusted
effective upon the first day of April of every
year, commencing April 1, 1976. The percentage
of change upward or downward shall be based upon
the percentage change for the prior calendar
year in the California Consumer Price Index (for
all items) as determined by the California
Department of Industrial Relations - all as more
fully set forth pursuant to the provisions of
Section 2212 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of
the State of California. Any adjustment made
pursuant to this section shall supersede any
maximum or minimum otherwise provided in this
Chapter.
SECTION,..2.1;: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be processed in
the manner prescribed by law.

I, Margaret S. Barbosa, City Clerk of the City of Irwindale,
do hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance
No. 295, was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Irwindale, held on the 13th day of November, 1975, and
was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council, approved
and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a
regular meeting of the said City Council held on the 11th day of
December, 1975, by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barbosa, Breceda,
and Mayor Chico
NOES: None ABSENT: None
