ORDINANCE NO. 425
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF IRWINDALE AMENDING SECTION 15.04.010 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
1987 EDITION OF TITLE 26 OF THE LOS ANGELES
COUNTY BUILDING CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 15.04.010 of the Irwindale Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
15.04.010 ADOPTION OF CODE.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain Building Code
known and designated as the Uniform Building Code, as published
in the 1987 Editioin of the Los Angeles County Building Code,
published by International Conference of Building Officials
effective November 8, 1987, and such code shall be and becomes
the Building Code of the City of Irwindale, regulating the
errection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use,
height, area and maintenance of all buildings or structures in
the City of Irwindale providing for issuance of permits and
collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the
regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such code, which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred
to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this
ordinance. The Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical codes
included therein area also adopted.
SECTION 2. The remaining provisions of Title 15 of the
Irwindale Municipal Code shall remain in effect with appropriate
reference changes.
SECTION 3. The provisions of this ordinance insofar as
they are substantially the same as the provisions of Section
15.04.010 shall be construed as restatements and continuations
and not as new enactments. All changes and modifications of the
Uniform Building Code, 1984 Edition as amended by this ordinance
are reasonably necessary because of local conditions. This
finding is made pursuant to Section 17958.5 of the State Health
and Safety Code.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and to its approval by the Mayor and shall
cause the same to be posted as required by law.

I, Deputy City Clerk of the City of Irwindale, do hereby
certify that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 425,
was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
the 26th day of May 1988 and was duly adopted by said Council at
their regular meeting held on the 23rd day of June, 1988.
