ORDINANCE NO. 427
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
ADDING A NEW SECTION 17.68.121 TO THE
IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
ANTENNAE
The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. A new section 17.68.121, reading as follows is
hereby added to the Irwindale Municipal Code:
17.68.121. Antennae. The following special rules
shall apply to the placement of antennae in all zones of
the City:
A. A radio, television, or other type of reception
antenna with a diameter of four (4) feet or more shall be
considered a structure in the context of Building & Safety
Code and shall require a building permit for installation.
B. Such an antenna shall not be:
a. roof -mounted (if it is a satellite dish
antenna);
b. located in a front yard area;
C. located in a side yard area;
d. located where it would be visible from the
street in the front or side of the building;
e. roof mounted antennas, if after being
granted through a variance, shall require a six foot high
minimum screen/shield.
C. Ground mounted antennas shall conform to the
setback and other requirements as accessory buildings
within the respective use zones. The maximum height of
such structure shall not be more than 10 feet.
D. Relief from the requirements of this section may
be provided by a variance.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.

certify that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 427,
was introduced at a regular meeting held on the 22nd day of
September, 1988, and was approved on first reading, and was
duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council at their
regular meeting of October 27, 1988
