AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
CITY OF IRWINDALE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 377 AND SECTION 2.04.031 OF THE
IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING
TO CITY COUNCIL - FLAT RATE REIMBURSEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that in the last seven (7)
years, the out-of-pocket expenses of the City Council members has
increased substantially, particularly in the use of automobiles,
conferences, conventions, dinners, promotions, parking fees, etc.,
in connection with the increase in residential, commercial and
industrial development and the corresponding infrastructure needs
and issues; and
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that these expenses exceed
the $100.00 per month per member reimbursement allowance authorized
by Section 2.04.031 of the Irwindale Municipal Code; and
SECTION 3. The City Council finds that by modifying the
geographical area to which the current monthly expense reimbursement
allowance applies would be equitable.
SECTION 4. Section 2.04.031 of the Irwindale Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"It is hereby authorized for payment for each and
every member of the City Council the sum of $100.00
per month commencing July 1, 1991, which sum shall
shall be deemed payment in full for all reimbursable
expenses expended within the Irwindale City
boundaries; other expenses shall be reimbursed for
expenditures outside of the City boundaries to all
councilmen who attend such events with specific prior
authorization. Said $100.00 per month shall not
cover expenses incurred outside of said City
boundaries."
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
according to law.
I, Deputy City Clerk, do hereby certify that
Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 449 was introduced
meeting of the City Council of the City of Irwindale
13, 1991, and was approved on first reading, and was
passed and adopted on second reading at the regular
June 27, 1991 by the following vote of the Council:
