AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
CITY OF IRWINDALE AMENDING SECTIONS
3.16.020; 3.16.030; 3.16.040; 3.16.050;
ORDINANCE NO. 309, AND ADDING SECTION
3.16.051 TO THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING TO UTILITIES TAX
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that an increase in the
utilities tax rate would be beneficial to the entire community by
funding needed city services and necessary public improvements,
therefore,
SECTION 2. Sections 3.16.020; 3.16.030; 3.16.040; 3.16.050; of
Ordinance No. 309, are hereby amended that the rate of the tax shall
be in the amount of 7 1/2%.
SECTION 3. Section 3.16.051 is hereby added to the Irwindale
Municipal Code to read as follows:
3.16.051 - CABLE TELEVISION TAX. A. There is hereby
imposed a tax upon every person in the City using
intrastate cable television services in the city. The
tax imposed by this section shall be at the rate of 7
1/2% of all charges made for such services and shall
be paid by the person paying for such services.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance is effective July 3, 1991 under
Government Code section 36937 relative to taxes.
SECTION 5. All other provisions of Ordinance 309 shall remain
in effect.
SECTION 6. All revenues derived from the tax imposed by
Ordinance 309 and by this Ordinance shall be assigned to the General
Fund and shall be used for the General Fund for purposes only,
unless the City Council by resolution directs otherwise.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall attest to the passage and
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
according to law.

Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 451 was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Irwindale held on June
27, 1991, and was approved on first reading, and was duly approved,
passed and adopted on second reading at the adjourned meeting held
July 3, 1991 by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmembers: Barbosa, Diaz, Miranda, Chico and
Mayor Hernandez
