AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF IRWINDALE AMENDING SECTION 3.04.030 OF
CHAPTER 3.04 OF TITLE 3 OF THE IRWINDALE
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO ADMISSIONS TAXES.
The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Section 3.04.030 of Chapter 3.04 of Title 3
of the Irwindale Municipal Code hereby is amended to read, in
words and figures, as follows:
"g 3.04.030 Events _ Other. When a charge or
admission price for a single admission is paid for the
right or privilege of being admitted to any premises
having a seating capacity of one thousand or more (other
than tennis courts while used solely for tennis playing
and tennis matches, golf courses and golf driving ranges
while used solely for golf matches, golf playing, golf
practice or instruction, and any premises while used
solely for amateur athletic contests in conjunction with
which neither animals nor mechanical devices of any kind
are used as part of the contest), or, in or upon which
premises any form of entertainment, sales or amusement
whatsoever (other than racing meetings which are subject
to the provisions of Section 3.04.020) is conducted,
there is levied and assessed and there shall be paid and
collected a tax of fifteen cents upon each payment for
admission charge of less than two dollars; a tax of

twenty cents upon each payment for admission of two
dollars or more but less than three dollars; and a tax
of twenty-five cents upon each payment for admission of
three dollars or more.,,
Section Z.. The City Council of the City of Irwindale
hereby finds and determines that this Ordinance has been
considered and adopted after the conclusion of a public meeting
and the notice(s) required by the provisions of California
Government Code § 54954.6.
e o -1. The City Council of the City of Irwindale
hereby finds and determines that this Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption pursuant to the provisions of
California Government Code § 36937(d) as an ordinance relating to
taxes for the usual and current expenses of the City.
Sectio -4. Severability.
The City Council declares that, should any provision,
section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance be
rendered or declared invalid by any final court action in a court
of competent jurisdiction, or by reason of any preemptive
legislation, the remaining provisions, sections, paragraphs,
sentences and words of this Ordinance shall remain in full force
and effect.
Section S. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published as required by law.

introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Irwindale held on the 19th day of July , 1993 and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Irwindale held on the 12th day of August 1993, by the
