HomeMy WebLinkAbout561ORDINANCE NO. 561 ` AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 2.28.040 AND 2.32.030 OF TITLE 2 OF THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO SALARIES OF PARKS AND RECREATION AND PLANNING COMMISSIONERS. WHEREAS, Section 2.28.040 of Chapter 2.28 of Title 2 of the Irwindale Municipal Code provides that each member of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall receive a monthly salary for each regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission actually attended by each such Commissioner; and WHEREAS, Section 2.32.030 of Chapter 2.32 of Title 2 of the Irwindale Municipal Code provides that each member of the Planning Commission shall receive a monthly salary for each regular meeting of the Planning Commission actually attended by each such Commissioner. and WHEREAS, the monthly salary for Members of the Parks and Recreation Commission is currently fixed at one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) per month, as set forth in Ordinance No. 482; and WHEREAS, the monthly salary for Members of the Planning Commission is currently fixed at one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month, as set forth in Ordinance No. 482; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to adjust the monthly salary of each member of the Parks and Recreation Commission to reflect services provided to the community; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to adjust the monthly salary of each member of the Planning Commission to reflect services provided to the community. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.28.040 of Chapter 2.28 of Title 2 of the Irwindale Municipal Code hereby is amended to read, in words and figures, as follows: Section 2.28.040 Compensation and Expenses. "Each member of the Parks and Recreation Commission shall receive the sum of one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00) for each regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission actually attended by each such Commissioner, not to exceed a maximum of one hundred seventy-five ($175.00) per month. Each Commissioner may receive reasonable travel, subsistence, lodging and incidental expenses incurred for attendance at conferences and actual and necessary Ordinance No. 561 Page 1 expenses incurred by Commissioners in the performance of their official duties. All expense reimbursements shall be made in accordance with policies and procedures established therefore by the City Council and shall be approved by the ti City Council. Section 2. Section 2.32.030 of Chapter 2.32 of Title 2 of the Irwindale Municipal Code hereby is amended to read, in words and figures, as follows: Section 2.32.030 Compensation and Expenses "Each member of the Planning Commission shall receive the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each regular meeting of the Planning Commission actually attended by each such Commissioner, not to exceed a maximum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per month. Each Commissioner may receive reasonable travel, subsistence, lodging and incidental expenses incurred for attendance at conferences and actual and necessary expenses incurred by Commissioners in the performance of their official duties. All expense reimbursements shall be made in accordance with policies and procedures established therefore by the City Council and shall be approved by the City Council." Section 3. The Deputy City Clerk shall attest to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted as required by law. ADOPTED this 23rd day of May 2002.
