HomeMy WebLinkAbout594ORDINANCE NO. 594 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 1-05 GPA, CHANGING THE CURRENT GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM INDUSTRIAL TO RESIDENTIAL AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION FROM M-1 (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) TO R-1 (SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 846-848 MERIDIAN STREET WHEREAS, the City of Irwindale (the "City") is requesting that the existing General Plan land use designation of Industrial be changed to Residential and the existing zone designation of M-1 (Light Manufacturing) be changed to R-1 (Single - Family Residential) for properties located at 846-848 Meridian Street; and WHEREAS, the subject properties have a current General Plan land use designation of Industrial and a current zone designation of M-1 (Light Manufacturing); and WHEREAS, the Industrial land use designation allows an industrial use; and WHEREAS, the retention of the Industrial land use designation and the M-1 zone designation on properties located at 846-848 Meridian Street could create inconsistency between the current General Plan land use designation of Industrial and the zoning designation of M-1 (Light Manufacturing) with the proposed use and the adjacent uses to the west (residential); and WHEREAS, on July 7, 2005, the Planning Commission duly adopted Resolution No. 456(05) PC recommending that the City Council adopt an ordinance certifying Negative Declaration No. 5-05 and approving the proposed General Plan Amendment and Zone Change; and WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore conducted a duly noticed public hearing, as required by Law, concerning the potential adoption of this General Plan Amendment and Zone Change and said public hearing was concluded prior to the adoption of this Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City's General Plan Map is hereby amended to reflect the approval of the requested General. Plan Amendment to change the land use designation from Industrial to Residential and amending the Zoning Map changing the zoning designation for the subject property from the current M-1 (Light Manufacturing) to R-1 (Single -Family Residential). Ordinance No. 594 Page 1 SECTION 2: The Deputy City Clerk shall certify as to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance. SECTION 3: The Deputy City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified copy of this Ordinance, by certified mail, to the Applicant at the address of record set forth in the Application.
