AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION FROM
A-1 (AGRICULTURAL) TO C-2 (HEAVY COMMERCIAL) FOR PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 1500 EAST DUARTE ROAD (CITY OF HOPE)
WHEREAS, the City of Hope ("Applicant") is requesting that the existing
zone designation of A-1 (Agricultural) be changed to C-2 (Heavy Commercial) for
property located at 1500 East Duarte Road; and
WHEREAS, the subject property has a current zone designation of A-1
(Agricultural); and
WHEREAS, the retention of the A-1 zone designation on property located at
1500 East Duarte Road creates inconsistency between the current zoning designation
with the proposed use and the adjacent uses to the west (hospital and medical research
facilities); and
WHEREAS, on September 6, 2007, the Planning Commission duly adopted
Resolution No. 523(07) PC recommending that the City Council adopt an ordinance
certifying Negative Declaration No. 3-07 and approving the proposed Zone Change; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore conducted a duly noticed public
hearing, as required by Law, concerning the potential adoption of this Zone Change and
said public hearing was concluded prior to the adoption of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City's Zoning Map is hereby amended to change the zoning
designation for the subject property from the current A-1 (Agricultural) to
C-2 (Heavy Commercial).
SECTION 2: The Deputy City Clerk shall certify as to the passage and adoption of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 3: The Deputy City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified copy of this
Ordinance, by certified mail, to the Applicant at the address of record set
forth in the Application.

and adopted on second reading at its regular meeting held on the 10th day of October
