AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
AMENDING TITLE 15.12 OF THE IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
FIRE REGULATIONS AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE VERY HIGH FIRE
HAZARD SEVERITY ZONE MAPS PREPARED BY THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby determines that the Very High Fire Hazard
Severity Zone Maps as recommended by the Director of the California Department of
Forestry and Fire Protection and as designated on a map titled Fire Hazard Severity
Zone, City of Irwindale, Exhibit A-1, A-2 is necessary to protect public safety and
welfare from the hazards of wildland fires.
Section 2. The Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone Maps as recommended
by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection shall be incorporated into
Title 15.12 of the Irwindale Municipal Code.
Section 3. The boundaries of the Wildland Urban Interface Areas shall be the
same as the California Department of Forestry and Protection's Very High Fire Hazard
Severity Zone maps.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Irwindale this 25th day of June 2008.
