AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
AMENDING SECTIONS 2.24.010 AND 2.24.020 OF CHAPTER 2.24 OF THE
IRWINDALE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO
THE OFFICIAL POLICE INSIGNIA
The City Council of the City of Irwindale does ordain as follows:
Section1: Section 2.24.010 of Chapter 2.24 of the Irwindale Municipal
Code hereby is amended to read, in words and figures, as follows:
"2.24.010 Insignia Designated. The City adopts, as the official insignia
and identifying symbol of the Police Department, the insignia depicted in Section
2.24.020. Said insignia shall be a depiction of the badge of the City of Irwindale
Police Department consisting of a silver shield with the following adornments:
the fluting around the upper edge of the badge shall be silver in color with the
rank of the holder in blue lettering set forth upon a silver colored semicircular
strip. Below the rank shall be the Great Seal of the State of California, in color, in
the upper center portion of the badge. Below the seal shall be the insignia of the
City of Irwindale, the "Mission", adorned with two American flags. The "Mission"
is cradled in a curved band, silver in color, with the words "Irwindale Police" in
blue lettering. At the bottom of badge is a silver colored plate with the badge
number or other identifying symbol in blue lettering.
Section 2: Section 2.24.020 of Chapter 2.24 of the Irwindale Municipal
Code hereby is amended to read, in words and figures, as follows:
"2.24.020 Facsimile. A facsimile of the official insignia and identifying
symbol of the Irwindale Police Department is set forth below:
Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
