AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE
REMOVING SECTIONS 5.16.010 THROUGH 5.16.100 AND PROVISIONS
REFERENCING SUCH SECTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
CITY COUNCIL PERMITS
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that certain provisions of the Irwindale
Municipal Code are in need of updating insofar as they require City Council approval of
uses that are either outdated and no longer authorized businesses or duplicative of
other safeguards provided under the law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to update the Irwindale Municipal Code to
remove sections 5.16.010 through 5.16.100 as being redundant or no longer necessary
as well as amend other provisions of the Irwindale Municipal Code that refer to sections
5.16.010 through 5.16.100.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IRWINDALE DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sections 5.16.010 through 5.16.100, inclusive, of the Irwindale
Municipal Code are hereby removed from the Irwindale Municipal Code in their entirety as
redundant or no longer necessary.
SECTION 2. The following Municipal Code Section references to section
5.16.100, which specifically provide "City council permit required: Section 5.16.100 [and
subsections thereunder]" shall be removed, with all other provisions of the following code
sections remaining unmodified and in full force and effect:
• 5.08.080
• 5.08.140
• 5.08.150
• 5.08.230
• 5.08.270
• 5.08.320
• 5.08.391
SECTION 3. Except as specifically provided for herein, all remaining provisions of
the Irwindale Municipal Code shall remain unmodified and in full force and effect.
SECTION 4.The Deputy City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be posted according to law.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 23 rd day of January, 2013.
