The Irwindale Parks & Recreation Commission met in regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners: Theresa Chico, Paula Fraijo, Belen
Zepeda and Chairman Diaz. Also present:
Frank Barbosa and Rosemary Ramirez.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
AUGUST 7, 1996 Upon motion, the minutes of August 7, 1996 were approved
as presented.
MOTION: Commissioner P. Fraijo

RECREATION DIRECTOR
16TH OF SEPTEMBER FIESTA Recreation Director Barbosa informed the commission that he
BOOTH REQUEST - HOME has authorized Home Savings of America and Valley to have
SAVINGS & WATER CO a booth at the fiesta. It was noted that these vendors would
only provide information and handouts to the community.
There will be no sales associated with their use.
T.O.P.S REQUEST TO Ms. June Hartwell, of TOPS is asking for approval to use the
USE BANQUET ROOM banquet room on Friday mornings between 9 - 11:30 am.
Mr. Barbosa noted that the gym is closed during these hours.
In light of the above, this request was denied. It was
suggested that perhaps the community center could be
requested especially since there is a janitor there on Fridays.
FIRE DEPT REQUEST Recreation Director received a request (via
personnel) of a fee waiver for members of the Los Angeles
County Fire Department Station 48, to use the weight room
facility. Referring to the fee policy established and approved
by the commission and City Council, this request was not
approved.
FLAG FOOT BALL & Director Barbosa informed the commission that the flag football
PRE SCHOOL PROGRAM and pre school program will begin in October.
COMMISSION REQUEST Chairman Diaz asked Secretary Ramirez to provide for the next
meeting, a copy of the ordinance pertaining to park uses.
ADJOURNMENT Upon motion, meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.

commission discussion or action on such communications. If a member of the audience feels he must proceed tonight,
then each speaker will be limited to 2 minutes and each subject will be limited to 6 minutes, unless such times are
extended.
