The Irwindale PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION met in regular session at the above time
and place.
ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners Erlinda Duran, Carol B. Hernandez;
Belen Zepeda; Vice Chair Paula Fraijo; Chair Dan Diaz
Also present: Mike Rados, Public Works Manager; Carol Acosta,
Recreation Supervisor; and Armando Hegdahl, Records Technician
SPONTANEOUS
COMMUNICATIONS There were no speakers.
CONSENT CALENDAR
MOTION A motion was made by Vice Chair Fraijo, seconded by
Commissioner Hernandez, to approve the Consent Calendar. The
motion was unanimously approved.
ITEM NO. 1A MINUTES
MINUTES
The following minutes were approved:
1) Special meeting held September 5, 2007.
RECREATION
MANAGER UPDATE
RECREATION Recreation Supervisor Acosta provided the following update:
SUPERVISOR ACOSTA
1) All programs continue as normal.
2) Munchkin and Flag Football games will begin October 12.
3) The Halloween Carnival has been scheduled for October 28.
COMMISSIONER ITEMS
COMMISSIONER Commissioner Hernandez requested rescheduling next month's
HERNANDEZ regularly scheduled commission meeting to sometime during the
second week of the month.
VICE CHAIR FRAIJO Vice Chair Fraijo pointed out several repairs necessary at the gym
locker room.
PUBLIC WORKS Public Works Manager Rados advised that Recreation Manager
MANAGER RADOS Grijalva usually conducts a walk through inspection of the facility to
determine what repairs are needed. He also reported that one of the
three dying palm trees at the skate park has been replaced; two

have been removed. Also, the hole in the fence netting has been
repaired.
CHAIR DIAZ Chair Diaz spoke on the football leagues. Also, in response to a
question by Chair Diaz, Public Works Manager Rados advised that
there has been less acts of vandalism at the Skate Park recently.
COMMISSIONER Commissioner Hernandez requested additional garbage cans at the
HERNANDEZ park during sporting events.

ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to conduct, the meeting was
adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
