The Irwindale Parks & Recreation Commission met in regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners: Theresa Chico, Paula Fraijo, Olivia
Grijalva, Belen Zepeda and Chairman Diaz.
Also present: Recreation Director Frank Barbosa.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
APRIL 3, 1996 Upon motion, minutes of April 3, 1996 were unanimously
approved as presented.

REQUEST TO PURCHASE It was by unanimous decision that the Commission
SOUND SYSTEM recommended that a new sound system be requested in the
1996-1997 Annual Budget.
EASTER PROGRAM It was recommended by members of the Commission that in
the future, the chocolate candy that is distributed at the easter
egg hunt, be frozen before distributing it throughout the
designated hunting areas. There was no objection from the
Director.
GRAND RE -OPENING It was noted that the grand re -opening ceremonies were
CELEBRATION scheduled to be held on Saturday, June S; 1996, beginning at
1:00 p.m. Entertainment is scheduled for this event and
refreshments will be served.
It was noted that membership registrations would be taken on
the day of the grand opening.
STATUS OF PREVIOUS The Commission inquired as to the status of the gym
COMMISSION REQUESTS maintenance request and the purchase of the cellular phone
that were made previously to the City Manager's Office.
ADJOURN At this time, the commission informally adjourned to the
Gymnasium for a group walk through of the facility.
