The Irwindale Parks & Recreation Commission met in regular adjourned session at the above time
and place.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners: Theresa Chico, Paula Fraijo, Belen
Zepeda and Chairman Diaz. Also present: Recreation
Director Frank Barbosa and Secretary Rosemary Ramirez.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
OCTOBER 2, 1996 Upon motion, the minutes of October 2, 1996 were approved
as corrected on Page 1, ¶6.

SECOND: Commissioner T. Chico
RECREATION DIRECTOR
DANCE CLASS Recreation Director Barbosa distributed copies of the dance
class participant sign in sheets. Mr. Barbosa also informed
the commission that the policy which requires non resident
chaperones to dance class participants is now in effect.
MEETING WITH FIRE DEPT Director Barbosa informed the commission that the meeting
with the Fire Department is postponed until after the first of
the year. In the meantime, Director Barbosa has arranged for
the signs around the perimiter of the park to be changed such
that the words "No Fireworks" is added to the rules and
regulations.
ELEVATOR REPAIRS Director Barbosa informed the commission that the General
Contractor assumed the warranty for the elevator repairs.
Repair technicians have been out to repair the equipment and
are scheduled to return until the repairs are complete.
GRAFFITI ON BENCHES Director Barbosa reported that the painted graffiti on the park
benches has been removed. It was also noted that the graffiti
which was gouged deep into the concrete benches cannot be
removed.
RESTROOMS TO REMAIN Due to budget cut backs, Director Barbosa advised the
OPEN UNTIL 11 PM commission that in the future, park patrol will be limited.
Director Barbosa will discuss this matter with Chief Miranda
in an effort to keep the facilities open until the end of the
season.
ADJOURNMENT Upon motion, meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
