The Irwindale PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION met in adjourned session at the above
time and place.

Present: Commissioners Erlinda Duran, Marguerite S. Lopez,
Belen Zepeda; Vice Chair Paula Fraijo; Chair Dan Diaz
Also present: Camille Diaz, Assistant City Manager; Mike Rados,
Public Works Manager; Dan Grijalva, Recreation Manager; and
Armando Hegdahl, Records Technician
There were no speakers.
MOTION A motion was made by Vice Chair Fraijo, seconded by
Commissioner Lopez, to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion
was unanimously approved.
ITEM NO. 1A MINUTES

The following minutes were approved as presented:
1) Regular meeting held January 5, 2011.
RECREATION
MANAGER UPDATE
RECREATION Recreation Manager Grijalva presented the following update:
MANAGER GRIJALVA
1) The football banquet was recently held. He thanked the volunteer
coaches for all their efforts.
2) The Zumba class has been very popular with 30 people attending
on the weekends and about 26 during the weekday sessions.
3) Applications for flag football are being accepted.
4) There are currently six signed up for the basketball program and
3 for the Lil' Dunkers program.
COMMISSIONER ITEMS
VICE CHAIR FRAIJO Responding to a question by Vice Chair Fraijo, Recreation Manager
Grijalva advised that the gym floor has been redone and looks great.
CHAIR DIAZ Chair Diaz thanked the Recreation Department for its football
program.

VICE CHAIR FRAIJO Vice Chair Fraijo thanked the volunteer football coaches for their
participation.
RECREATION Recreation Manager Grijalva advised that the game dates for the
MANAGER GRIJALVA basketball program may need to be changed.
COMMISSIONER Commissioner Lopez provided briefly provided the Commission with
LOPEZ her background information in order for the commissioners to get to
know her better.
CHAIR DIAZ Chair Diaz commended the Public Works Department for removing
graffiti quickly from City property.
COMMISSIONER Commissioner Duran spoke on graffiti on City sidewalks.
