12)The new school bus should be received by Friday.
VICE CHAIR FRAIJO Responding to several questions by Vice Chair Fraijo, Recreation
Manager Grijalva advised that beach trips were moved from
Thursdays to Wednesdays to allow interested persons enough time
to attend the trips and not have to rush to also attend the Thursday
afternoon concerts at the park; a Lifeguard and Pool Manager is on
duty during the Aqua Fitness classes; participants of this class stay
in the shallow end of the pool so that they can easily walk out if
necessary; the Summer Lunch Program will continue until about a
week before school resumes in August; the new school bus can be
used before the start of the school year, though the school bus signs
would need to be covered; the maximum number of participants in
the Day Camp trips is 30; sponsors of the summer concerts enjoy
advertisements on banners, microphone time, and a few other
things.
Vice Chair Fraijo stated that the summer concerts may receive more
sponsors if the city prepared its own banner to advertise the events,
to which Recreation Manager Grijalva indicated that he would look
into it. He acknowledged receipt of a $2,000 sponsorship check from
Superior Communications.
COMMISSIONER Commissioner Zepeda noted that the snack bar that participants of
